Tasky — Privacy Policy

Tasky is a free, open-source macOS desktop application that lets you view and edit your Google Tasks. This page explains what data Tasky accesses and how it is handled.

What Tasky accesses

When you sign in, Tasky requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks Google OAuth scope. This scope allows Tasky to read and write your Google Tasks task lists and tasks (titles, notes, due dates, completion status) on your behalf. Tasky does not request access to any other Google data — not your email, contacts, calendar, files, or anything else.

Where your data goes

Tasky talks directly to Google's own servers (tasks.googleapis.com and Google's OAuth endpoints) over an encrypted connection. There is no server operated by the Tasky developer in between. Your task data is never sent anywhere except to Google, by Google's own API, initiated by actions you take in the app.

What Tasky stores on your Mac

• A Google OAuth refresh token is stored in your Mac's Keychain, so you don't have to sign in every time you open the app. It is stored locally only — it is never transmitted anywhere except back to Google to obtain a fresh access token.
• Your access token, task data, and app preferences (like your chosen filters, sort order, and language) are kept only in memory or in your local macOS preferences (~/Library/Preferences) — never uploaded anywhere.

What Tasky does not do

Tasky has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party trackers of any kind. The developer does not operate any backend server and has no way to see your tasks or any other data.

Revoking access

You can disconnect Tasky from your Google account at any time in two ways:

• Click Sign out in Tasky — this removes the locally stored refresh token.
• Visit Google Account → Security → Third-party access and remove Tasky's access — this revokes the token on Google's side too.
